Glo AB, a Lund University spin-off developing nanowire LEDs, chose to locate its pilot production at DTU Danchip.
Glo aims to develop and commercialize energy efficient, low cost nanowire light-emitting diodes (nLED) based on heterostructured semiconductor nanowire epitaxial growth.
In 2010, Glo decided to start pilot production at the DTU Danchip cleanroom in Lyngby, Denmark.
– It is a facility where we will prepare our first product for full-scale production, but it will alse be used for developing new products in the future, said Glo CEO Bo Pedersen to Rapidus .
Parallel to the pilot production in Lyngby, Glo worked to establish a unit in Silicon Valley aiming to develop the technology necessary to scale up production, reported Rapidus. At the time of the interview, Bo Pedersen hoped to have a product ready for the market by 2011.
Glo was founded in 2005. The company is based on technology developed at Lund University.
