Enhancing the properties of plastics

Højteknologifonden grants DKK 50 M to a Danish four year project that aims to enhance the properties of plastics using nanotechnology. DTU Nanotech is one of 12 partners from industry and academia.

- The fact that our research can be brought directly into play is extremely motivating for us. We clearly feel that there is a need for this technology among the companies and in addition to this, there are some really interesting research related challenges - In other words; A perfect match, says Rafael Taboryski, senior researcher from DTU Nanotech.

The aim of the project is to impart plastic products with new properties, such as self-cleaning plastic surfaces, plastic surfaces with special optical properties, and colourful plastic surfaces without the use of colorants.
