Presentations from Nanocomposites Update
Henrik Hillborg, ABB, and Jesper Bøgelund, DTI, were two of the speakers at Nanocomposites Update in Lund, 11 November. Here are their presentations.
The Nanocomposites Update workshop was an opportunity for researchers and companies to share their experience of the development and use of polymer based nanocomposites.
43 participants had registered for the event, including 16 representatives of companies, institutes or authorities.
Talks were given by:
Jesper Bøgelund, DTI:
Extreme materials for extreme environments
Henrik Hillborg, ABB Corporate Research:
Polymer nanocomposites as electrical insulation in high voltage application
Rodney Rychwalski, Chalmers:
Polymer carbon nanocomposites (abstract)
Lars Berglund, Wallenberg wood science center and KTH:
Nanostructured cellulose composites - opportunities and challenges
Anders Mikkelsen, Lund University:
MAX IV and imaging of nanocomposites
Patrik Fernberg, Swerea SICOMP AB:
Next generation fibre reinforced composite materials
.
Material on nanosafety
One of the topics discussed was nanosafety. A number of reports were mentioned:
Compendium of projects in the European Nanosafety cluster 2010
Considerations on a definition of nanomaterial for regulatory purposes
Scientific basis for the definition of the term “nanomaterial”
